In today’s prevailing and fast-paced workplace, employees find it necessary to frequently improve their job skills to stay competitive. Employers are encouraged to take advantage of Pasco Hernando Workforce Board’s Employed Worker Training Program to enhance your employees’ skills. The Employed Worker Training Program is intended to provide financial assistance to employers that recognize the importance of investing in their employees. Studies show that employees recognize the value of attaining new skills. The attainment of these skills can lead to increased productivity and impact your bottom line.
 
Training Program Benefits:
 
  • Up to 50% of your direct training costs are reimbursed by Pasco Hernando Workforce Board
  • You have the flexibility to choose your own trainer and curriculum (or training course)

What is EWT?
Employed Worker Training is a short-term, customized training project that has the intent of upgrading employees’ skills, retaining jobs, advancing current employee wages, and creating new entry-level jobs.
Who is Eligible?
Permanent, full-time employees, who have completed their probationary period and represent an occupation noted on the Targeted Occupation List for Region 16, Pasco and Hernando Counties. Individuals also must meet EWT eligibility guidelines.
What companies can participate?
Any business located in Pasco or Hernando County that provides Workers’ Compensation, is current on all Federal and State of Florida tax obligations and is interested in upgrading employees’ skills. Businesses must not have been suspended or debarred from doing business with state or federal government and must be financially sound.
Who provides the training?
Employers must use outside training vendors and all training must meet the USDOL/ETA definition of a credential or certificate.
What type of training is allowable?
Industry and occupation specific training. Training on new equipment; equipment upgrades; new software; and industry certifications/credentials are examples of acceptable training.
